Choreography, dancing body and sexuality
In the last decade there is a renewed interest appearing for the exploration of sexuality in dance and choreography. This interest can take different forms, exploring the disciplinary aspect of the body organization (the relationship between dance and pornography), but also researching somatic dimensions of the body in the relations to sexuality. I would like to talk in my lecture about several contemporary dance performances which are tackling those issues from the feminist, postcolonial and queer perspective and show how this explorations are going beyond the the critique of the gaze of the spectator and the dynamic of watching, opening up a critical approach to sexuality as a kinaesthetic notion.
